On GitHub: Command Line Interface for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Open on GitHub

The OCI CLI (oci) is a Python tool for managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure resources from a terminal: compute instances, networks, block volumes, IAM and more. Commands follow the pattern oci <service> <resource> <action>, for example oci compute instance list.

The repository holds the source code and the install scripts (scripts/install/install.sh and install.ps1) that Oracle’s Private Cloud Appliance 3.x User Guide links to. On PCA, the same CLI talks to the appliance’s Compute Enclave once ~/.oci/config uses the appliance as its region and oci_cli_rc points to the appliance CA bundle.

It is also available through package managers, for example Homebrew (brew install oci-cli) and Oracle Linux packages. Not every OCI service exists on PCA, so check the PCA documentation for which commands apply to your appliance release.
