On GitHub: The Prometheus monitoring system and time series database.

Open on GitHub

This is the core Prometheus server, written in Go. It discovers targets through static configuration or service discovery, scrapes their /metrics endpoints, stores the samples in its local time series database, and provides PromQL plus a web UI on port 9090. It also ships promtool for checking configuration and rule files.

Prometheus is a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) project. Other parts of the ecosystem live in sibling repositories in the same GitHub organization, for example prometheus/node_exporter for Linux host metrics, prometheus/alertmanager for routing alert notifications, and the client libraries for instrumenting your own code.

Release binaries for Linux and other platforms are attached to the GitHub releases, and an official container image is available.
