On GitHub: A modern JavaScript utility library delivering modularity, performance, & extras.
Open on GitHubLodash collects small, well-tested utility functions that JavaScript did not have built in for a long time: _.debounce, _.throttle, _.cloneDeep, _.get, _.groupBy, _.isEqual and many more. It is a dependency of a very large number of npm packages.
Many of its functions now have native equivalents: optional chaining instead of _.get, Object.groupBy instead of _.groupBy, structuredClone instead of _.cloneDeep for plain data, and array methods like flat and includes. Before adding Lodash to a new project, check whether the platform already covers what you need.
Where it still shines is in edge-case-heavy helpers such as deep equality, debounce with maxWait, and merging nested objects. Import individual functions (for example from lodash-es or per-method paths) to keep browser bundles small.
